Welcome to the Why Urology podcast with Dr. Todd Brandt.

This podcast is my personal attempt to teach you about your genito-urinary tract, what can go wrong, and how your urologist may just become your superhero.

The name of the podcast comes from my ongoing need to answer the question that I get so often from patients, friends, and family, “Why Urology? Why did you choose to become a urologist?”

Nov 9, 2018

It is November. And this month each year the Movember Foundation encourages us to grow facial hair, specifically a mustache, to raise awareness and money for men’s health issues–prostate cancer, testicle cancer, and men’s health issues of depression and suicide prevention.

Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.

If you or someone you know needs help, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Trained crisis workers are available to talk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you think someone is in immediate danger, do not leave him or her alone—stay there and call 911.
